Terms of Service

Last updated: October 5th, 2026

Mullet Maters is an independent dating service operated by Garret Kaye. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Mullet Maters mobile application, website, and related features and services (collectively, “Mullet Maters,” “M.M.,” or the “Service”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Mullet Maters Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Mullet Maters.

1. Eligibility

Mullet Maters is for adults only.

To create or maintain an account, you must:

You may not misrepresent your age, identity, location, intentions, or other material information for the purpose of deceiving other users or Mullet Maters.

Mullet Maters may refuse registration or access where reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or protect the integrity of the Service.

2. Accounts and Authentication

Mullet Maters currently uses phone-number authentication.

Verification of a phone number establishes that a person has access to that phone number. It does not establish that the person is who they claim to be, verify their age, or constitute an identity or background check.

You are responsible for maintaining control of the devices and phone number used to access your account and for notifying Mullet Maters if you believe an account has been compromised.

You may not create accounts to circumvent a suspension, prohibition, rate limit, safety restriction, or other enforcement measure imposed by Mullet Maters.

3. Use Mullet Maters Responsibly

Mullet Maters exists to help adults discover, communicate with, and meet other adults for dating and related social purposes.

Do not use Mullet Maters to harm, exploit, deceive, harass, or abuse other people.

Without limiting that general rule, you may not use the Service to:

This list is not exhaustive. Conduct that Mullet Maters reasonably considers unsafe, exploitative, fraudulent, abusive, disruptive, or fundamentally inconsistent with the purpose of the Service may result in enforcement even if that exact conduct is not listed above.

4. User Content

Your content remains yours

You retain whatever ownership rights you have in content that you create or provide through Mullet Maters, including profile photos, biographies, profile answers, and other material you submit (“User Content”).

Mullet Maters does not acquire ownership of User Content merely because it is uploaded to the Service.

You are responsible for User Content you provide. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to provide that content and to permit Mullet Maters to use it as described in these Terms.

You may not provide content that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.

Limited license to operate Mullet Maters

By providing User Content, you grant Mullet Maters a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, technically modify, transmit, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and provide the Service and its features.

For example, this permits Mullet Maters to store a profile photo, create a thumbnail from it, and display that photo to other users through the Service.

This license does not give Mullet Maters permission to use a user's likeness, photos, or profile content in advertising or promotional material unrelated to operation of that user's account without separate permission.

The license ends when Mullet Maters no longer reasonably needs the content for these purposes, subject to temporary technical retention, legal obligations, safety and enforcement requirements, and the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Hosting is not guaranteed

Ownership of User Content does not create a right to require Mullet Maters to continue storing, displaying, transmitting, or otherwise hosting that content.

Mullet Maters controls what content it permits on its infrastructure.

Where controls are available, you may remove User Content or delete your account. Mullet Maters may also remove User Content as described in these Terms.

5. Encrypted Messages

Chat messages transmitted through Mullet Maters are end-to-end encrypted.

Message content is encrypted on the sender's device before transmission and remains encrypted until it reaches the intended recipient's device. Mullet Maters does not possess the information required to reconstruct the plaintext of an encrypted chat message.

Mullet Maters can receive message plaintext when a user voluntarily discloses it, such as when submitting a report.

The operational license in Section 4 does not give Mullet Maters any additional ability or right to obtain encrypted message plaintext.

End-to-end encryption does not prevent a recipient from copying, photographing, recording, forwarding, reporting, or otherwise disclosing messages they can already read. It also cannot protect a device that has itself been compromised.

Mullet Maters messaging should not be treated as a permanent archival or backup service. Messages, conversations, encryption material, or related records may become unavailable or be deleted in accordance with the Service's operation, account deletion, enforcement actions, or the Privacy Policy.

6. Other Users' Content

Profiles, photos, and other material provided by other users belong to those users or their respective rights holders.

Access to another person's content through Mullet Maters does not give you ownership of that content.

You may use other users' content only in ways reasonably consistent with using Mullet Maters for personal dating and communication. You may not scrape, compile, sell, commercially exploit, publicly republish, or otherwise misuse another user's content without authorization.

Nothing in this section prohibits reasonable steps taken for personal safety, reporting misconduct, preserving evidence, obtaining legal assistance, or exercising rights provided by law.

7. Moderation, Content Removal, Suspension, and Bans

Mullet Maters reserves broad discretion to decide who may use the Service and what content it will host.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mullet Maters may at any time:

Mullet Maters may take these actions with or without prior notice.

Reasons may include suspected or actual violations of these Terms, fraud, abuse, harassment, safety concerns, illegal conduct, misuse of the Service, attempts to evade enforcement, threats to Mullet Maters or its users, legal obligations, or other conduct that Mullet Maters determines is inconsistent with maintaining a safe and functional dating service.

Mullet Maters may consider relevant conduct occurring outside the Service when that conduct reasonably bears on the safety of Mullet Maters users or the integrity of the Service.

Mullet Maters is not required to establish a violation to a criminal or civil evidentiary standard before taking a platform-enforcement action.

Mullet Maters also is not required to disclose the identity of a reporting user, confidential safety information, internal moderation methods, or other information where disclosure could impair another person's privacy or safety or undermine enforcement systems.

No guaranteed appeal

If you believe an account restriction or prohibition was imposed in error, you may contact:

support@mulletmaters.app

Mullet Maters may review such requests, but does not promise a formal appeal process, a particular review procedure, a response within any particular time, reinstatement, or any particular outcome.

8. Account Deletion and Consequences of Termination

You may delete your Mullet Maters account through the controls provided in the Service.

If you delete your account, or if Mullet Maters permanently terminates it, Mullet Maters may permanently delete account information and User Content from its active systems and has no obligation to continue hosting, preserving, or returning that content except where required by law.

For accounts that are permanently prohibited from the Service, Mullet Maters may retain an HMAC-SHA-256 value derived from the associated phone number for the purpose of enforcing the prohibition without retaining the phone number itself in that system.

Other temporary retention in backups, logs, caches, or third-party infrastructure is governed by the Privacy Policy.

Deletion of an account does not require another user to delete information that user independently received or retained, including messages, screenshots, or other material previously shared with them.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue after account termination—including intellectual-property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute provisions, and indemnification obligations—will survive termination.

9. No Identity, Age, or Background Verification

Mullet Maters does not conduct identity verification, criminal-background checks, sex-offender-registry checks, relationship-status checks, or other background investigations of users.

Mullet Maters relies on users to represent that they are at least 18 years old. The Service may use age-related application-store classifications and may prevent users from entering a date of birth that would indicate they are under 18, but these measures do not independently verify a person's age.

Phone-number authentication likewise does not establish a person's real-world identity.

A person's presence on Mullet Maters should not be interpreted as an endorsement, verification, certification, or representation by Mullet Maters that the person is truthful, safe, lawful, compatible, single, or otherwise suitable to meet.

10. Interactions With Other Users

Dating involves interacting with people Mullet Maters does not control.

You are responsible for deciding whether, when, and how to communicate with or meet another user.

Mullet Maters does not control and cannot guarantee:

Use reasonable judgment when interacting with others. Do not send money or financial information to people you do not know and trust. Consider meeting in public, telling a trusted person where you are going, and taking other appropriate safety precautions.

Mullet Maters is not responsible for the independent conduct of users merely because those users met or communicated through the Service, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Share My Date Plans and Safety Features

Mullet Maters may provide safety-related features, including features that allow a user to share information about a planned meetup with another person.

These features are tools, not monitoring or emergency services.

Mullet Maters does not promise to monitor a meetup, determine whether someone has arrived or departed safely, continuously track anyone's location, contact a trusted person on a user's behalf, or contact emergency services merely because a meetup plan exists.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact appropriate emergency services.

No safety feature can eliminate the risks inherent in interacting with or meeting another person.

12. Reports and Enforcement

Mullet Maters may provide tools for reporting users, messages, photos, profiles, or other conduct.

Submitting a report does not guarantee that Mullet Maters will take a particular action.

Mullet Maters may investigate reports using information reasonably available to it and may request additional information where appropriate.

Because chat messages are end-to-end encrypted, Mullet Maters cannot independently retrieve chat plaintext from its infrastructure. A user may voluntarily disclose message content when submitting a report, and Mullet Maters may use mechanisms such as message franking to authenticate qualifying disclosed content.

Mullet Maters may cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement or other authorities as required or permitted by law.

You may not upload or distribute content through Mullet Maters that infringes another person's intellectual-property rights.

If you believe material available through Mullet Maters infringes your copyright or other rights, contact:

legal@mulletmaters.app

Include enough information to identify the protected work, identify the allegedly infringing material, locate that material, contact you, and understand the basis for your complaint.

Mullet Maters may remove allegedly infringing material and may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe the intellectual-property rights of others where appropriate.

14. Mullet Maters' Intellectual Property

Except for User Content and third-party material, Mullet Maters and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design, graphics, interfaces, trademarks, logos, text, and other proprietary material.

Subject to these Terms, Mullet Maters grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.

No other rights are granted.

“Mullet Maters,” associated logos, branding, and other identifiers may not be used in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, affiliation, or authorization.

15. Advertising and Third-Party Services

Mullet Maters is currently supported in part through advertising.

Advertisements, links, or third-party services appearing through Mullet Maters may be operated by companies that Mullet Maters does not control.

The appearance of third-party advertising does not by itself mean that Mullet Maters endorses the advertiser, product, service, claim, or destination.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices. Your relationship with those third parties is governed by the applicable terms between you and them.

The Privacy Policy describes the information practices associated with advertising and service providers used by Mullet Maters.

16. Service Availability and Changes

Mullet Maters is under active development.

Mullet Maters may add, change, restrict, experiment with, suspend, or remove features at any time. Features may work differently for different users, locations, devices, or versions of the Service.

Mullet Maters may establish or change reasonable limits relating to likes, messages, discovery, storage, usage, rate limits, or other features.

Mullet Maters does not guarantee that the Service, any particular feature, any stored content, or access to a particular account will always be available.

The Service may experience outages, errors, delays, data loss, maintenance periods, security incidents, or other interruptions.

Mullet Maters may also discontinue the Service entirely.

The Service is currently offered without a subscription fee. Mullet Maters may offer paid products or features in the future. Any charge will be disclosed before the user affirmatively agrees to the applicable transaction.

17. Geographic Availability

Mullet Maters is presently intended primarily for users in the United States.

Availability of the Service in another location does not constitute a representation that every feature is appropriate or legally available in that jurisdiction.

If you access Mullet Maters from outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with laws applicable to you.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive consumer or other legal rights that applicable law does not permit you to waive.

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Mullet Maters IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

Mullet Maters makes no warranty, express or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mullet Maters disclaims implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Mullet Maters does not warrant or guarantee the conduct, identity, intentions, statements, compatibility, safety, or reliability of any user.

Mullet Maters does not guarantee that use of the Service will result in matches, conversations, dates, relationships, or any other particular outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.

19. Assumption of Risk and Release

You understand that communicating with and meeting people through a dating service involves risks, including risks arising from dishonesty, fraud, harassment, interpersonal conflict, physical harm, theft, or other misconduct by third parties.

You voluntarily assume the risks inherent in your interactions with other users to the extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Mullet Maters and its operator, successors, and assigns from claims arising solely from the independent acts or omissions of other users or third parties with whom you interact through or as a result of using the Service.

This release does not apply to liability that applicable law does not permit Mullet Maters to disclaim or release, including liability arising from Mullet Maters' own conduct where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

If California Civil Code Section 1542 or a comparable law applies, you waive its protections to the extent legally permitted with respect to claims covered by this release, including qualifying claims not known at the time of the release.

20. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Mullet Maters AND ITS OPERATOR, SUCCESSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR SIMILAR LOSSES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this limitation includes claims arising from or related to:

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF MULLET MATERS AND ITS OPERATOR FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT, IF ANY, YOU PAID DIRECTLY TO MULLET MATERS DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

The exclusions and limitations in this section apply regardless of whether liability is alleged under contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute, or another legal theory and even if Mullet Maters was advised that damages were possible.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

21. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mullet Maters and its operator, successors, contractors, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, judgments, penalties, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from or relating to:

This obligation does not require you to indemnify Mullet Maters for liability resulting solely from conduct by Mullet Maters that applicable law does not permit to be shifted to you.

22. Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution first

Before filing arbitration or a lawsuit against Mullet Maters, you agree to first send a written description of the dispute to:

legal@mulletmaters.app

The notice should include enough information to identify your account, describe the dispute, explain the requested resolution, and permit Mullet Maters to respond.

You and Mullet Maters agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days after the notice is received before initiating arbitration or litigation, unless immediate relief is reasonably necessary or applicable law provides otherwise.

Individual arbitration

Except for disputes described below, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under the rules applicable to consumer disputes then in effect.

The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this arbitration agreement.

The arbitration may be conducted remotely where permitted by the applicable rules, or at another reasonably convenient location agreed by the parties or determined under those rules.

The arbitrator may award the same individual remedies that would be available in court to the extent permitted by law.

Exceptions

Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small-claims court instead of arbitration.

Either party may seek temporary or emergency injunctive relief from a court where necessary to prevent unauthorized access, security abuse, intellectual-property infringement, or other imminent harm while a dispute is being resolved.

Nothing in these Terms requires arbitration of a dispute where applicable federal or other law gives a party the right to elect that the dispute proceed in court, including qualifying disputes involving sexual assault or sexual harassment.

No class proceedings

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND Mullet Maters AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS.

Neither party will seek to have a dispute heard as a class action, collective action, consolidated proceeding, representative action, or private-attorney-general action where such waiver is legally permitted.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND Mullet Maters ALSO WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL FOR DISPUTES COVERED BY THIS ARBITRATION AGREEMENT.

If applicable law requires a particular claim or form of relief to proceed in court notwithstanding this section, that claim or relief may proceed as required by law.

Arbitration opt-out

You may opt out of the arbitration agreement in this Section without affecting your ability to use Mullet Maters.

To opt out, email legal@mulletmaters.app within 30 days after you first accept these Terms and state clearly that you are opting out of the Mullet Maters arbitration agreement. Include enough information for Mullet Maters to identify your account.

An opt-out applies only to the arbitration agreement. The remainder of these Terms continues to apply.

23. Governing Law and Court Venue

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms and disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the arbitration provisions above.

For disputes that are permitted to proceed in court rather than arbitration, you and Mullet Maters agree to the personal jurisdiction of the appropriate state or federal courts having jurisdiction over Mullet Maters' principal place of business, unless applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to bring the dispute elsewhere.

24. Changes to These Terms

Mullet Maters may update these Terms as the Service, its features, or applicable law changes.

When these Terms change, the “Last updated” date will be revised.

For material changes, Mullet Maters will make reasonable efforts to notify users through an in-app notice, push notification, or other reasonable means where appropriate. Any notice required by applicable law will be provided.

The current Terms will remain available through the Mullet Maters website.

Where permitted by law, continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If applicable law requires affirmative consent to a particular change, Mullet Maters will request that consent before treating the change as binding.

25. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly applicable to a particular feature, constitute the agreement between you and Mullet Maters concerning use of the Service.

Severability

If part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or severed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect unless applicable law requires otherwise.

No waiver

If Mullet Maters does not enforce a provision of these Terms in one instance, that does not waive the right to enforce it later.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without Mullet Maters' written permission.

Mullet Maters may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with incorporation, reorganization, a change in business structure, merger, acquisition, sale or transfer of assets, or succession to operation of the Service, subject to applicable law.

No agency

These Terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership, fiduciary, or joint-venture relationship between you and Mullet Maters.

Events outside reasonable control

Mullet Maters is not responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances reasonably outside its control, including failures of internet, telecommunications, cloud, platform, app-store, notification, utility, or other third-party infrastructure.
